The (MMFFP) Metro Manila Film Festival-Philippines which start December 25, 2010 and ends January 7, 2011 and the eight official entries for this year’s annual filmfest is now revealed! It may be six months away but the organizers have already revealed the titles of the movies, which made it to the cut. The revelation was held at Club Filipino.

A girl gets brought on a trip by her ex-boyfriend in hopes of reconciliation. They end up spending the night at an old family resort that's about to be renovated. But the resort has a hidden bloody past, and restless spirits out of vengeance soon threaten their lives.

Gary (Derek Ramsay) and Lizelle (Angelica Panganiban) are lovers for 4 years. One day in the search for a better life and future they decide to work together in a cruise ship and both attend an interview test on the ship. During the test both are required to jump into the sea with Lizelle getting scared and failing the test, making her ineligible to work on the cruise ship.

Gary then proceeds to work on the cruise ship leaving Lizelle behind without saying goodbye to her. Gary’s unexpected departure makes Lizelle really sad and this also marks the end of their relationship. She then finds a new job as a waitress in a coffee shop where she meets up with her new love, Adrian (Gabby Concepcion) who is working as cardiovascular surgeon.

Both get along rather quickly and decide to stay together in a house with Adrian’s daughter, Issa (Kim Chiu). Previously Adrian was married to Valerie (Angel Aquino) but got divorced later with Issa as their only child. Staying with Adrian is Lizelle’s biggest challenge as Issa could not get along with her and she is trying hard to please her new mother-in-law (Liza Lorena) while attending her birthday party.

One day Issa hosts a dinner with Gary as her guest and it is an unexpected meeting between Lizelle and Gary. Gary then expresses her old love to Lizelle but she rejects him as she already has Adrian. At the same time Issa is also wooing Gary, not knowing that he is only using her as a bait to approach Lizelle. The very determined Gary does not give up on Lizelle easily and joins her during a trip to Ilocos.

The old love then reunites in the absence of Adrian who is away to Singapore to attend a medical seminar and solve his personal problem. After coming back Adrian surprises Lizelle with a wedding proposal. Lizelle is shocked and could not reply him immediately. The next day Gary also presents her with a ring and a marriage proposal. Lizelle is now stuck among the two guys. Who will she choose to marry in the end?

Basilio and Buboy, two boys from a coastal town, sail off for Manila in search for a better life. Instead they find themselves squabbling for inhospitable space  by the breakwater of Manila Bay. Yet amid the rubbles of destitution, Basilio finds redemption in Paquita, a prostitute whose life is fueled mainly by drugs  and alcohol. Basilio's affecttion sets Paquita on the road to recovery.

Basilio has always had a deep communion with the sea. It is here that the body of his father lays rest. Now, sank deeper in poverty, the sea becomes his savious when he uncovers a pouch of jewelry that's been washed up by the breakwater. However, when he sells a piece to help out a fellow dweller in need, news spread out to Dave, a policeman and former client of Paquita, who then accuses Basilio of stealing. One incident leads to another that winds up the tragic yet tender climax.
the film dazzles with sterling performances from tyros Katherine Luna and Kristoffer King. Others hail it as a resurgent pience of work from the Philippines not seen since the days of Lino Brocka.

Urduja is a 2008 animated film adaptation of the legend of the warrior princess Urduja of Pangasinan. It is the first of two locally produced (in the Philippines) animated films set for release in 2008. The other, Dayo, is set for a December 2008 release, in time for the Metro Manila Film Festival. Urduja is created by an all-Filipino group of animators and made by the traditional (hand-drawn) animation process. It also features an all-Filipino cast of voice actors. Urduja was released on June 18, 2008. The film reportedly gross of PhP 30,916,566.
